It has been reported that some aspects of Storage Wars are staged or manipulated for entertainment purposes. For example, some of the lockers shown on the show may have been stocked with valuable items by producers to create more dramatic and interesting storylines. Additionally, some of the bids made by the cast members may be scripted or influenced by producers to add tension and excitement to the show. Overall, while there are elements of fakery on Storage Wars, the cast members are still real buyers and the auctions themselves are genuine. **

While it is difficult to determine an exact percentage, it is widely believed that a significant portion of the content in Storage Wars is staged or manipulated. Many scenes are scripted, items are sometimes planted in storage units, and the outcomes of auctions are often predetermined. This has led to criticism from both viewers and former cast members who have spoken out about the lack of authenticity in the show. Ultimately, it is important for viewers to approach the show with a critical eye and understand that not everything they see is genuine. **

In reality, similar to Storage Wars, there are auctions for abandoned storage units where bidders can purchase the contents inside without knowing exactly what they are getting. These auctions are typically held when tenants fail to pay rent on their storage units, and the contents are then put up for sale to recoup the lost revenue. Just like in Storage Wars, bidders have the opportunity to potentially find valuable items or treasures among the items in the storage unit. **
